The primary focus of this position is to provide networking, LAN/WAN support and data center management, responding to requests such as service desk tickets, telephone, email and in-person service within the Liebherr Groups and its Tupelo, MS location as well as other state side locations in accordance with Liebherr International IT security standards. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software related issues.

Responsibilities

Level I:

  • Implements and supports Cisco LAN/WAN/ & wireless networks, VOIP systems, AV Conferencing equipment and related computing environments including hardware, software and their respective configurations at local and remote Liebherr facilities.
  • Maintains network devices to function in a virtualized environment with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Nutanix, Hyper-V and SAN environment (Cisco,NetApp, Dell).
  • Implements/Manages Cisco DNA Center, SDA/ACI, and ISE.
  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure within cloud environments (public, private, and hybrid). This includes virtual private clouds
  • (VPCs), software-defined networking (SDN), and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, wiring, or other network and system problems, and replace defective and outdated components as necessary.
  • Gathers data pertaining to customer needs, and uses the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware (VLAN’s, access control lists, etc.). 
  • Creates and keeps documentation updated related to new and existing IT infrastructure in the approved locations and formats.
  • Maintains logs related to network performance, as well as maintenance and repair records.
  • Works with product vendors to resolve hardware issues, and to improve the use and configuration of vendor products and technologies
  • Performs data center management tasks and assists in the design of datacenters.
  • Installs, configures, and operates network management products to monitor and maintain network equipment and computer systems. 
  • Performs accurate configuration backups of devices and ensure recovery from component failures.
  • Monitors network bandwidth usage at all sites and plans for bandwidth upgrades as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate asset information and inventory, while adhering to asset management policies.
  • Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations. Determines hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Handles support requests via service desk tickets, phone, and email or in person.
  • Provides network-related guidance and training to end users and IT staff.
  • Stays informed of current technology, trends and best practices related to networking and computer systems. Analyzes and recommends changes and upgrades to staff and IT management.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Camera systems and time keeping terminals.
  • Practices 5S methodology to keep responsible areas organized and always maintained.

Level II:

  • All duties of Level I
  • Manages all aspects of network licensing, maintenance renewals, and service contracts.
  • Manages the replacement of network infrastructure in local and remote Liebherr locations.
  • Manages telecommunication and provider provisioning (DIA, MPLS, PRI, POTS etc.) for local and remote sites.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses.
  • Coordinates with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate equipment purchases.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware (VLAN’s, access
  • control lists, etc.). 
  • Manages accounts, network rights, and access to devices and equipment.

Level III:

  • All duties of Level II
  • Lead the deployment and management of advanced Cisco solutions such as DNA Center, SDA/ACI, and ISE, ensuring alignment with Liebherr
  • International IT security standards.
  • Design, implement, and support complex Cisco LAN/WAN and wireless networks, including VOIP systems and AV conferencing environments, across both local and remote Liebherr facilities. This includes managing virtualized environments (Nutanixl/VMware vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V,
  • SANs) and ensuring seamless integration and high availability.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues, leveraging advanced research and analytical skills to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance
  • Provide expert guidance and training to end users and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance network security measures (e.g., VLANs, access control lists, encryption, RSA keys) to safeguard data, software, and hardware assets, ensuring compliance with internal and external security requirements.
  • Leads in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for all IT infrastructure, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for audits, compliance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide expert level guidance and training to end users and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Competencies

Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 0 years of related network engineering experience, or an Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related network engineering experience, or a minimum of 4 years of related network engineering experience in lieu of a degree. A current CCNP, CCIE Certification, or equivalent is strongly preferred and can be accepted in lieu of degree requirement.

Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of related network engineering experience, or an Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of related network engineering experience, or a minimum of 8 years of related network engineering experience in lieu of a degree. A current CCNP, CCIE Certification, or equivalent is strongly preferred and can be accepted in lieu of degree requirement.

Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of related network engineering experience, or an Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of related network engineering experience, or a minimum of 12 years of related network engineering experience in lieu of a degree. A current CCNP, CCIE Certification, or equivalent is strongly preferred and can be accepted in lieu of degree requirement.
