Millwright / Heavy Equipment Apprentice, Maritime Cranes
The purpose of this role is to undertake a formal apprenticeship within Liebherr-Canada Ltd. This position is intended for a candidate who has completed their millwright and/or heavy equipment provinicial appenticeship and is interested in pursuing an accredited trade and future career with Liebherr. The apprenticeship position is intended to support business succession planning for niche skilled trade positions and offers potential for a long-term career within LCA. This apprentice will be apart of our Maritime Crane division and will aid in the servicing of new equipment coming to Canada. This position will require occasional travel and comes with the opportunity to train at our factory in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of offshore and onshore equipment.
- Troubleshooting of offshore and onshore equipment.
- Assist in planning for repairs and for re-certifications.
- Assist in the execution of scope for our full service contracts.
- Assist with organinzing repairs at local work sites.
- Any other task or project as required to suit business needs.
Comptencies
- Must be a registered apprentice and enrolled in a Millwright or Heavy Equipment Technician program.
- 1-3 years of Millwright or Heavy Equipment experience is preferred.
- Previous experience with mechanical hydraulics and electronics will be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings is preferable.
- You are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work with computers and Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be able to occasionally travel throughout Canada.
- Valid drivers license and passport is required.
