Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the Saline, MI site Human Resources Supervisor in supporting HR functions, policies, and initiatives for the U.S. Liebherr companies and operating divisions.
Responsibilities
- Capable of working independently serving multiple departments.
- Experience advising and informing senior leaders and executives.
- Experience handling and resolving employee relations issues, conducting investigations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interactive skills, to include presentations, training, building rapport with employees, public speaking, written and spoken communication.
- Experience with ADP, Success Factors, Kronos and other HR Information Systems.
- Experience calculating monthly HR metrics (turnover, time to fill, overtime etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with compensation and classification, conducting salary analyses and making recommendations.
- Must be a strong team player.
- Experience supporting the employee life cycle.
- Immigration experience preferred.
- Familiarity with employment law (FLSA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
Competencies
- Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field with a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 7 years of direct human resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (This position is not a recruiting role.)
- SHRM-CP/PHR is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff inside and outside of Liebherr.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information.
- Solid working knowledge of employment, immigration, OSHA law.
- Proficient in MS Office; internet and intranet software; and HRIS systems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving and resolution skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in potentially stressful situations and multitask, as necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule required to support U.S. site locations and foreign affiliates.
