The Senior People Partner is a critical leadership role, providing strategic and operational HR and IR partnership to General Managers and senior leadership across the business. Leading a team of HR Business Partners, this role drives consistent, high-impact people outcomes across our mining division and locations, while partnering closely with the People Partnering Lead to shape organisational capability, workforce strategy, leadership effectiveness, and commercially aligned people initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with General Managers and SLTs to deliver strategic HR/IR advice, shaping workforce strategy, organisational design and capability outcomes.
  • Lead, coach and uplift a team of HR Business Partners to drive consistent, commercially focused people partnering across the business.
  • Provide senior oversight on complex ER/IR matters, including bargaining, case management and legislative compliance across multiple divisions.
  • Drive workforce planning, succession and organisational capability frameworks to proactively manage risk and build future capability.
  • Influence senior leadership through data-led insights, strengthening decision-making on people, performance and culture initiatives.
  • Lead large-scale change and national HR projects, embedding continuous improvement and ensuring alignment to business objectives. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualified in HR, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, with post-graduate studies highly regarded.
  • Proven capability in strategic HR partnering, including workforce planning, organisational development and performance management frameworks.
  • Deep expertise in ER/IR, employment legislation, Workers Compensation and compliance within a complex, multi-site environment.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and challenge senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical capability, using workforce data and insights to inform strategy, decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced communication, coaching and presentation skills, with experience leading talent, leadership and culture initiatives.
