Field Service Technician
We have a challenging and rewarding role for a qualified and experienced Mobile Crane Technician who can work independently, diagnose complex faults, and carry out repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision. You will provide the highest level of Customer Service, whilst maintaining and repairing our range of mobile and crawler cranes in the field for existing and new customers in Melbourne, Victoria, Tasmania and occasionally across our Australian and New Zealand network.

The 2025 year sees the business expand its Mobile Cranes workforce and we are seeking a Field Service Technician with diagnostic maintenance and repairs experience to join our established Mobile Cranes division in Melbourne.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Service Manager – you will be responsible for the provision of detailed and efficient diagnostic, maintenance and repairs of Liebherr mobile cranes to meet customer demands and minimise downtime. This role will encompass the highest level of customer service whilst also maintaining a safe workplace.

Skills and Duties:
With an immediate start available, you will be required to:
- Diagnose and repair faults on Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical components on Liebherr mobile cranes
- Complete preventative maintenance and servicing on Liebherr mobile cranes
- Carry out diagnostic examinations using specialised tools and equipment
- Request required spare parts for timely completion of jobs
- Operate workshop equipment including mobile lifting equipment
- Accurately complete documentation including timesheets, maintenance records and any customer/site specific documentation
- Expand and maintain customer relationships in the field by providing maintenance planning schedules
- Maintain the professional profile and customer relations by providing high quality Customer Service standards
- Continuous on the job training to ensure knowledge is current and up to date
- Have a strong commitment to safe work environment and continuous improvement
- Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Essential Requirements:
- Recognised Trade qualifications in either Mechanical or Electrical
- EWP – high Risk Licence
- Working at Heights certificate
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work over-time as required
- Previous experience working on Liebherr Mobile Cranes and related equipment is preferred
- Excellent diagnostic and computer skills
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors and colleagues
- Willingness to work overtime/on call when required
- Current driver’s licence (C class minimum).
Desirable Requirements:
- Liebherr Mobile Crane Equipment experience
- High Risk Licences: Forklift, Basic Rigging, Overhead Crane

Those candidates successful in progressing past interview stage will be required to undergo a Pre-employment process including National Police Clearance and Medical Screening which includes drug and alcohol testing.
