We are looking for a motivated Global SAP MDG Solution Architect (m/f/d) specialized in Business Partner Master Data, and in Material Master Data. In this role, you will contribute to shaping the future of our enterprise master data governance across multiple companies and divisions. You will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions, ensuring consistency, data quality, and harmonization across the global landscape.

Please note that the working location for this position will be in Madrid city, where we are currently setting up a new office location. 

Creating passion: your responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end MDG solution design and architecture for Business Partner and Material Master, ensuring alignment with Liebherr’s global data model and SAP S/4HANA template.
  • Lead and coordinate global MDG deployments across multiple entities, promoting process harmonization and master data standardization.
  • Define and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality rules, and stewardship processes in collaboration with the Center of Data Excellence.
  • Design and support integrations between SAP MDG, S/4HANA, and satellite systems (CRM, EWM, PLM, legacy systems), ensuring accurate data synchronization and distribution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to define and manage WRICEF objects, data migration strategies, and change requests related to master data.
  • Provide guidance across all project phases: blueprint, realization, testing, cutover, go-live, and post go-live support.
  • Support release and change management processes, ensuring stable and compliant deployments of MDG enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for MDG topics within the global S/4HANA transformation, mentoring internal teams and sharing best practices.
  • Ensure all the solution designs and decisions are documented using JIRA and Confluence (or similar tools).
  • Travel (up to 30%) to Liebherr sites worldwide to engage directly with business teams and support global rollouts.

Contributing your strengths: your qualifications

  • 5-7 years of SAP experience, including at least 3+ years of SAP MDG (on S/4HANA) with hands-on design and deployment experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven expertise covering both Business Partner and Material Master domains (including customer, vendor, and product data harmonization; alignment with the S/4HANA Business Partner model; and integration with logistics, procurement, finance, service, and PLM processes).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, derivation rules, validations, duplicate checks, change request workflows, SAP BRF+ knowledge; and consolidation/mass processing in MDG.
  • Experience designing integration scenarios using SOA, ALE/IDocs, RFC, OData, and API-based connectivity.
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP-based extensions, data quality tools (Information Steward, Data Services), and SAP Data Intelligence is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance data governance and operational agility, aligning design with business value.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts clearly to both IT and business audiences.
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and other agile delivery tools.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); German or other languages are an advantage.
  • SAP MDG certification or equivalent credentials are a strong plus.
