Join Liebherr, a global leader in engineering and manufacturing, as we advance our digital transformation journey. We are looking for a motivated Master Data Management (MDM) Product Owner (m/f/d) to play a key role in our global data and transformation landscape.

In this role, you will drive the functional ownership and business value realization of Master Data Management solutions across Liebherr’s divisions and companies. You will ensure that master data processes and solutions support business objectives, data governance standards, and operational excellence.

As MDM Product Owner, you will act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and implementation teams, translating business needs into clear priorities and safeguarding process and product integrity. You will shape the MDM roadmap, support innovation and continuous improvement, and ensure that solutions are ready for sustainable operations after project handover.

Creating passion: your responsibilities

  • Own and drive the MDM product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and Liebherr’s data strategy.
  • Safeguard process and product integrity for key master data domains (e.g., Business Partners, Materials), promoting consistent governance and data quality standards, and ensuring alignment with Liebherr’s SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) solution landscape.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, and governance bodies to define, validate, and prioritize requirements based on business value.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and guide implementation partners, reviewing and approving functional designs and documentation from a business perspective.
  • Manage and prioritize the MDM backlog, ensuring focus on strategic value, feasibility, and alignment with program objectives.
Coordinate with stream leads and project leadership to ensure end-to-end data and process integration across domains.
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities, escalating issues that may impact scope, timeline, or value realization.
  • Support testing, business validation, and deployment readiness, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure effective handover to operations and enable continuous evolution of MDM solutions beyond the project phase.
  • Promote data governance awareness and consistent master data practices across the organization.
  • Travel (up to 30%) to Liebherr sites worldwide to support alignment and rollout activities.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, with the ability to align senior stakeholders and drive decisions in complex environments.
  • Strong functional understanding of master data domains such as Business Partners, Materials, Finance, or Supply Chain data, and of how master data impacts end-to-end business processes, reporting, and digital initiatives.
  • Experience working with enterprise Master Data Management platforms such as SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG), ChainSys, or equivalent solutions in large-scale data transformation programs.
  • Experience acting as a senior counterpart to business and IT leadership in data-related initiatives. Strong facilitation and negotiation skills across business and IT communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to define data governance frameworks, stewardship models, and data ownership structures.
  • Proven track record in translating business priorities into data-related roadmaps and measurable value.
  • Experience working in structured program environments with multiple vendors and system integrators.
  • Familiarity with backlog and requirement management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
