Technical Writer
Responsibilities
The Technical Writer compiles and publishes Operating and Technical Manuals for customers of Liebherr Container Cranes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Create Operator and Technical documents for Liebherr and its customers.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and key functional department personnel to develop accurate content for new design elements.
• Present the detail in a clear and concise manner, taking account of the need for easily translatable content.
• Coordinate document translations as required.
• Use multimedia applications to create content in line with process developments at Liebherr.
• Use JIRA-based tracking systems to manage additional issues as they arise.
• Comply with relevant standards both internal and external – in particular machine safety standards.
• Maintain project timelines and work to assigned schedules.
• Manage and create content for automated systems on Liebherr products.
• Other duties will evolve from time to time.
Qualifications, Requirements and Experience
• A relevant third level technical qualification or technical background.
• Practical experience in an electro-mechanical industry and/or knowledge of automated systems.
• Experienced in creating high-quality technical content.
• Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication / collaboration skills.
• A willingness to learn / develop further relevant skills as the need arises.
• Applicants must have a high standard of written and spoken English.
• Proficient computer user – a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – minimum.
• Experience in some or all of the following is desired:
o Content editing packages such as COSIMA or similar
o Drawing packages such as CREO Illustrate or similar
o Image-editing packages such as Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or similar
