Electrician - Weekend
Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for an Electrician on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated self- starter, dependable and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate will have excellent attention to detail and have good communication skills. This position requires flexibility to work weekend shift.
- Carry out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, root cause analysis and repairs on machinery and plant to required standard.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and safety checks in line with regulations.
- Support installation, commissioning, upgrades, and modification projects where required.
- Work on AC/DC motors, control circuits, sensors, drives, PLC systems, and LV/HV installations.
- Cable sizing, installation, glanding, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports (manual and computer systems), while maintaining departmental KPIs.
- Support continuous improvement and assist in training apprentices.
- Liaise with operators, supervisors, and colleagues to complete work effectively.
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping
Qualifications, Requirements & Experience
- Qualified electrician with industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong fault-finding ability on automated equipment advantageous.
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and machine documentation to support fault-finding, self-directed learning, and development of machine knowledge and maintenance competency.
- Competent with Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and CAFM systems.
- Experience in testing, inspection, and compliance.
- PLC/CNC/robotics advantageous.
- Strong safety awareness, experience working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must be available to work weekends 06:30am – 18:30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
