The Warehouse Operations Lead assist the management team with coordinating, planning, monitoring, and tracking all activities of the warehouse. They are expected to be knowledgeable in all warehouse operations activities specific to their area of assignment and are responsible for assigning workloads to the team under their immediate supervision, providing day-to-day operational training and evaluating the immediate performance of those in their area of responsibility daily.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Warehouse Operations Associates with balancing the daily workflow.
  • Assists the Warehouse Operations Manager with devising/implementing standard operating procedures across all functions of the warehouse when applicable.
  • Assists with maintaining and assures the proper use of the company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by all warehouse operations employees for the transaction of sales, purchase receipts, storage locations, shipping, and re-distribution requirements.
  • Trains employees in all areas including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Liebherr products, material handling equipment (MHE) and cranes. 
  • Provides support to all warehouse operations employees by answering questions, providing immediate instructions, and advising on all phases of warehouse operations.
  • Oversees the immediate operational physical and documentation flow of products within the warehouse. This includes all processes related to general inventory integrity and efficiency.
  • Assists with the checks of incoming shipments against the Bills of Lading/packing list for accuracy of piece count and condition, noting any corrections or changes on Bills of Lading ensuring the driver has signed, acknowledging discrepancies and/or damages.
  • Assists with the checks of outbound shipments against the Bills of Lading/packing list for accuracy of piece count and condition, tracking any corrections or changes.
  • Ensures the accuracy and quality of information on warehouse operations documents.
  • Investigates, resolves, and coordinates shipping, stocking, and receiving discrepancies.
  • Tracks and monitors error rates by individual warehouse operations employees and as a group in your area of responsibility as assigned by your Manager.
  • Promotes a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization as necessary to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Responsible for establishing and upholding 6S standards in the warehouse.
  • Suggests changes that would improve department efficiency or working conditions.

Competencies

  • Associates or Technical degree with 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 or more years.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Timekeeping systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Knowledge of Metric and Standard Systems and conversions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of basic power tools, i.e., saws, drill motors air compressors. 
  • Skilled in basic keyboarding.
  • Skilled in reading basic tools of measurements, i.e., tape measure, calipers etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret Liebherr Employee Rules and Regulations, company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, production, and customer sales orders. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings.
  • Ability to train employees. 
  • Ability to analyze data and reports to support decision making.
  • Trained in the safe operation of power equipment i.e., counterbalance fork trucks, order pickers, and rack loaders.
