The Facilities Intern will support the organization, standardization, and maintenance of departmental operational procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and controlled documentation systems within the Facilities department. The role will also assist with operational coordination activities related to maintenance workflows, document management, and administrative continuity, while gaining practical exposure to process improvement and operational support within a service-based industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with organizing and maintaining departmental operational and maintenance documentation
Support the creation, formatting, review, and revision of SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance procedures
Help standardize document structures, templates, naming conventions, and storage practices
Support development of future branch startup/shutdown procedures and operational continuity documentation
Assist with document control, revision tracking, and version management
Work with department personnel to gather operational workflow information and process details
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance and facilities operations
Assist in identifying documentation gaps and opportunities for process standardization
Help maintain organized records and operational reference materials within company systems
Participate in departmental meetings and process reviews as required
Assist with workflow mapping and operational process documentation
Support departmental operational coordination activities, including document tracking and workflow follow-ups
Assist with PO/PR follow-ups, invoice coordination, vendor communication, and procurement support activities
Provide backup support for departmental administrative workflows during absences or peak operational periods
Support data tracking, reporting, and operational records management

Competencies

  • Basic administrative support capability
  • Basic understanding of operational, maintenance, or facilities environments is considered an asset
  • Microsoft family proficient
