A vacancy has arisen within our Mobile & Crawler Cranes department for a Service Engineer (Crawler Cranes & Foundation Machines). The role will contribute to the success of Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd by carrying out effective maintenance and repair work on equipment out at customer premises or on site, ensuring both quality standards and timelines for repair are optimised at all times leading to increased customer confidence and repeat business whilst working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership

Your responsibilities as a Service Engineer:

  • Carrying out the servicing, inspection, and repair of foundation machinery and equipment at customer premises, on site, or, if required, at the appropriate depot.
  • Diagnosing specific faults and taking appropriate action.
  • Returning all warranty and other return parts, cleaned and on time, ensuring the correct processes for packing and labelling are followed.
  • Ensuring all service information is read, understood, and filed.
  • Undertaking all work strictly in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
  • Escalating the appropriate action in relation to broken or damaged company equipment.
  • Developing effective working relationships with the support team at the depot and supporting others where required.
  • Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for self and others through a clear understanding of workplace safety requirements and systems.
  • Supporting the roles of others, ensuring administration and paperwork are completed effectively and on time, as and when required.
  • Developing outstanding rapport and relationships with all customers.
  • Coordinating with customers, ensuring their needs are understood and that a flexible approach is adopted to meet those needs.
  • Working with the customer in mind, ensuring quality work standards are maintained consistently and that, following completion of work, the repair site is clean and left in a condition that satisfies the customer.
  • Effectively contributing to the recognition and improvement of work processes to drive greater efficiency.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Work experience within heavy plant or a relevant industry.
  • CSCS Card
  • Slinger and signaller
