Head of Business Accounting and Tax

We’re seeking a Head of Business Accounting and Tax to lead a high-performing team in delivering critical tax, statutory accounting, treasury, and accounts payable services. This is a pivotal leadership role with broad influence across the business and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll provide strategic direction and operational leadership to ensure compliance, accuracy, and excellence in financial reporting and tax management. You’ll work closely with senior executives, the Board of Management, and cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality financial services.
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and inspire a team of professionals, aligning accounting and tax operations with business strategy. You’ll ensure services meet internal and external compliance standards, including IFRS, ATO, and IR requirements.
- Tax & Statutory Reporting: Oversee the development and lodgement of all tax and statutory accounting obligations. You’ll ensure timely, accurate submissions and manage IKS reporting for tax.
- Financial Advisory & Reporting: Deliver insightful accounting and tax reports to management and the Board. Provide expert financial advice to divisions and business units.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and responsiveness. You’ll also contribute to the development of internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Treasury & Accounts Payable: Manage efficient treasury operations and ensure accounts payable processes are timely and compliant.
- Collaboration & Influence: Build strong relationships across the business, from divisional managers to payroll and finance teams, fostering a culture of trust and excellence.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or similar (CPA required; Master’s desirable)
- Proven leadership experience in accounting, tax, or finance functions
- Deep knowledge of statutory reporting, tax compliance, and treasury operations
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing audits and implementing internal controls
- A collaborative, proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
