About the Role:

We're excited to announce a newly created position for a Category Manager. Reporting to the General Manager – Procurement, we seek someone who views challenges as opportunities and embodies Liebherr's values.

 

The position will be instrumental in shaping and executing category strategies that drive positive progress, enhance supplier performance, and foster collaborative relationships across the organisation.

 

This role requires a self-motivated individual who is passionate about leading change and rethinking established methods. They should be capable of working independently and possess a strong inner drive to achieve excellence and deliver results.

Skills and Duties:

To succeed in this role, you will need high levels of personal integrity, and a positive work ethic coupled with the ability to:

 

  • Develop and manage category strategies to achieve value for money and cost savings
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities
  • Negotiate and establishing commercial agreements
  • Conduct SRM meetings, monitoring supplier performance, resolving issues, and negotiating contract variations
  • Provide commercial guidance and educate cross-functional stakeholders on procurement policies and processes

 

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering, Law or Project Management ideally with three years of applicable professional experience 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
  • Well-developed strategic thinking with sound commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Proactive problem-solver
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and possess an inner drive to achieve results
