The Divisional Director will lead and provide strategic and operational management for all sales, service, parts, and re-manufacturing functions within the Mining division. This pivotal role is essential for driving customer development, executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives, and overseeing forecasting, asset management, liquidity, and profit and loss management. 
Collaborating effectively across divisions, the Divisional Director will champion the LCA business culture while maximizing profitability throughout Canada. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this position will ensure that Mining objectives are fully supported and effectively translated into actionable strategies within the Canadian marketplace, aligning with the broader goals of Liebherr-Canada Ltd. 

Responsibilities

  • Objective Setting: Ability to define measurable outcomes for sales and marketing strategies, including target revenue growth and market share metrics.
  • Resource Planning: Proficiency in developing timelines for identifying future resource and competency needs to ensure proactive planning.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Expertise in utilizing data analytics to inform strategy adjustments and operational improvements, fostering a continuous feedback loop.
  • Market Diversification: Skills in identifying and targeting specific sectors or markets outside of oil and gas for growth, along with developing entry strategies.
  • KPI Development: Capability to define and monitor key performance indicators [KPls) related to customer service, quality, safety, reliability, and profitability.
  • Collaboration Enhancement: Experience in implementing initiatives or tools that promote collaboration within a shared services model, such as cross-departmental meetings and collaborative software.
  • Communication Planning: Ability to create structured communication plans that include regular updates, feedback mechanisms, and engagement strategies for teams. Workforce

Competencies

  • Must have at least 10+ years in the Mining Heavy Equipment industry.
  • Extensive Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong Networking Abilities: Proven success in building and leveraging relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and Liebherr factory contacts.
  • People Management Skills: Well-established skills in coaching, developing, and fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to engage with customers effectively, utilizing CRM tools to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Change Management Expertise: Experience with methodologies such as Agile or Lean to manage and implement change initiatives.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel and business intelligence software for data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective Communication: Superior written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences; French language skills are an asset.
  • Influencing and Negotiation Skills: Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively to advocate for the division's needs.
  • Technical Appreciation: Understanding of relevant products, technologies, and industry standards to support operational success.
  • Team Building and Collaboration: Skills in fostering a collaborative culture and motivating teams to achieve common goals
