About the Role:

This newly created operational role is based at our Para Hills West Head Office.  You will work closely with the onsite operational teams where you will be integral in providing timely and effective HSE advice and support.   You will be key player in assisting the National HSE Team to deploy and implement strategies, support with hazard and critical risk management and deliver local HSE communications, training and engagement activities.

Skills and Duties:

You will be required to:

  • Coach Team Leaders and Operational Teams to meet their HSE obligations
  • Guide operational teams in investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Participate in HSE committees, toolbox meetings and attend operational management meetings
  • Review, create and assist in the development, implementation and review of policy and procedure that comply with regulations, HSE management systems and industry best practice
  • Stay up to date with HSE regulations and best practices and initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes.

Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Hold a Diploma in WHS or a minimum of 5 years HSE experience in a construction / heavy industry or manufacturing industry
  • Have an ICAM Lead Investigator certification or be willing to obtain
  • Have exceptional communication skills including advanced written and oral presentation skills, stakeholder management coupled with a proactive, consultative approach and dedication to Safety Improvement.

 

Ideally you will also have:

  • A Rehabilitation and Return to Work Certificate
  • A Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • High-Risk Licences (Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, White Card, Dogging & Rigging)
  • Solid investigation and analytical skills
  • Strong MS Office skills.

 

Applicants successful in progressing past interview stage will be required to undergo a Pre-employment process including National Police Clearance and Medical Screening process which includes drug and alcohol testing.
